Bell 429, Fairfax County PD, VA
Hueys are loud, Blackhawks you usually can't hear until they are almost on top of you. That 429? Sounded like a squadron of Hueys was circling me.

Ghost Town
For those of you that thought I was joking about my "people" photo, this is the only other time in my walk around the block that I actually saw people outside. Weird because the weather is really nice, but the place is completely deserted.

Sony NEX-C3 with Nikkor 18-55 VR
The adapter is a little different than the others that I have because Nikon G lenses don't have an aperture ring. Instead, the aperture ring is in the adapter itself.
The lens is great but close to useless in this body except as an ultra-wide and maybe as a zoom for macros. I can't use VR because no power is being fed into the lens, and the aperture ring has no way of telling me which aperture I have selected except assuming that wide open it is f/3.5 and shut down it is f/22.

Yet one more test shot, Sony NEX-C3 and Nikkor 18-55 VR
Just received my NIkon-F G to NEX adapter, this was shot @f/3.5 and 18mm from my usual spot. It was just too damn dark to do a proper hyperfocal test. And of course, VR won't work since there's no power fed into the lens.
The only edits have been to eliminate some of the barrel distortion (the D5100 does this automatically, the NEX-C3 can't because there's no CPU connectivity), converted to black and white and a tiny little bit of sharpening.

The sub-theme is "broken." This is actually a toothpick, as seen through a Celestron USB microscope.

Orange shirt day?
They sent a memo from school suggesting that kids wore orange shirts today. The problem is I can't find the memo, so I have no clue about what it was about (anti-bullying maybe?). I tried googling it but all I am getting is a law firm that fired a bunch of people because they all wore orange on a payday Friday.

Setup for day 283
Everything in the photo is very affordable, except maybe the cat. The tripod is from AmazonBasics and it is fanastic for the very little it cost me. The photo booth, lights and back drop are part of a kit I got for less than $40 a long time ago.
